Bob was elected on September 10, 2015, to serve all of Nashville as an At-Large Member of our Metro Council.
He currently serves as the Chair of the Council's Budget & Finance Committee and is a member of the Council's Charter Revision Committee and Ad Hoc Affordable Housing Committee.
Bob grew up in Chicago. The eldest of three children, Bob's parents instilled in him a strong sense of personal responsibility and the importance of education. He attended the University of Illinois for college, and the University of Chicago for law school. Soon after law school graduation, he met Sue at a wedding of a mutual friend. A few years later, Sue and Bob were married and decided to move to Nashville looking for a better quality of life. Nashville quickly became home and it's where they chose to raise their family. Today, Bob, Sue, and their two daughters, Katie and Claire, live in Nashville's Hillsboro West End neighborhood.
Bob is a member of Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison, PLC. He concentrates his law practice in the areas of commercial litigation, business bankruptcy, and business planning. Most of his practice involves solving complicated business problems for his clients. Bob is proud of having spent most of the last 20 years owning and running a small business in Nashville.
In addition to his legal practice, Bob serves on the Boards of Father Ryan High School, New Level Community Development Corporation, and Park Center. Bob also served on the Board of Nashville Electric Service for four years, including 2 years as chair of the Audit Committee, and 1 year as chair of the Board. He was a member of Leadership Nashville's class of 2013, and served as president of the Nashville Bar Association in 2011.
